This is the demo version of “(I've Had) The Time Of My Life” sung by Franke Previte and Rachele Cappelli in 1987, first released in 1998 on the reissue of the Franke & The Knockouts album of the same name.
During the filming of “Dirty Dancing,” Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze danced to the music of this demo because the version originally intended for the film, featuring Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes, had not yet been completed; it was not incorporated into the film until the editing process.
As a co-writer, Frank Previte won an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
He also recorded the
demo for “Hungry Eyes” in 1987, which was released in 1998 on the reissue of the album “Makin' The Point” by Franke & The Knockouts. In the film, the song was ultimately sung by Eric Carmen.
