Earliest writing by the Marburg student Th. Ibing, released in the “Zeitschrift des Vereins für Volkskunde” in Berlin (published by Behrend & Co.). The song tells the story of Luiska, who waits longingly for the return of her lover. When she finally finds him again, the story ends tragically with their mutual sinking into the sea.
Small parts of the melody were later used by Kurt Wiehle in the “Panzerlied”. Heinz Anton Klein-Werner used the refrain for his “Südwesterlied” in 1937.
