Roxy Music gave a concert in Dortmund's Westfalenhalle on December 8, 1981. Shortly before the concert began, the news of John Lennon's death reached the band and the audience. Roxy Music changed their program even during the live broadcast by ZDF and visibly deeply affected Brian Ferry sang "Jealous Guy". Due to the overwhelming response to their version, the band recorded a single in February, which was released in the same month.
