The song “Tic, tic tac” was originally produced for the Parintins Folk Festival (Festival Folclórico de Parintins) in Brazil and praises the greatness and power of the Amazon river. In mid-1994, a music group from the Amazon region called Carrapicho recorded the song, which was discovered by French singer Patrick Bruel, who helped produce and distribute it in his home country. There, in France, the song became a summer hit.
German music producer Frank Farian discovered the song, added a rap part, English lyrics, and the line “La-Di-Da-Di, we like to party” from an 80s rap track by Doug E. Fresh & M. C. Ricky D. The group Chilli was created for this remake of “Tic Tic Tac.” It had worldwide popularity, including number 2 in the Austrian charts and number 5 in the German charts.
