At the folk festival "Gerde's Folk City" on April 16, 1962 Bob Dylan played the song for the first time in front of an audience. He played 5 songs, as the last one "Blowin' In The Wind". The recordings from the festival were not officially released until 2012 on Sony's "The 50th Anniversary Collection." In May 1962, the lyrics and music were printed in the 6th issue of Broadside Magazine.
