Swiss Cradle Song
(1913)
Instrumental
"Now Is The Hour" has often been mistakenly referred to as a traditional Māori song. Originating in the early 20th century, it has been attributed to several authors over time. The publisher W.H. Paling & Co. published the work under the title "Swiss Cradle Song" and named Clement Scott as the author. However, this is said not to be the British travel writer Clement William Scott, but a pseudonym of the Australian composer Albert Bokhare Saunders. The text and arrangement changed over the years, and Maewa Kaihau and Dorothy Stewart are also named as authors, who also registered copyrights.
