Song View

The original text of this Christmas carol is the Swedish poem “Tomten,” written by Viktor Rydberg in 1881. It was translated into Finnish by Valter Juva in 1906 and tells the story of an elf who cannot sleep. The music was composed by Lyyli Wartiovaara-Kallioniemi and published as a songbook in 1945.
