“Gunsmoke” began as a radio series (which ran until 1961) and was adapted for television in 1955. The first episode aired on CBS Network on September 10, 1955. The song plays instrumentally during the opening and closing credits. In Germany, “Smoking Guns” was broadcast on ARD from 1967.
