The song is part of the opera Iolanthe and premiered on November 25, 1882, at the Savoy Theatre in London, UK, with George Grossmith as the singer. The performance at the Standard Theatre in New York City took place just a few hours later. The video, of course, only features an audio sample with a different singer.
