At the height of the Neue Deutsche Welle (New German Wave) in 1982, Spliff released “Déjà vu” on their album 85555. The track reached number 36 in the German singles charts and is full of apocalyptic mood. Did they already sense the imminent end of the NDW? Spliff was not really a typical Neue Deutsche Welle band. However, the song became a classic and is still enjoyed and played today.
