“Rock On” is a song from the 1998 album ‘Bambule’ by the German hip-hop band Absolute Beginner, which later changed its name to Beginner. It is probably one of the best German hip-hop albums - not only musically innovative, but also lyrically mature. It's worth listening to the whole album. Every song is interesting in its own way. In “Rock On” it says (in German): “Our train has left, but we're on it.” The train is probably the “Sonderzug nach Pankow” (special train to Pankow, a district in East Berlin) that Udo Lindenberg sang about. At 3:17 we hear a very clear allusion to a passage from this song, which has been slightly rewritten. For example, Westradio became a contemporary web radio.
