Released in 1910, the song was featured in the musical “His Honor: The Barber,” which premiered on May 8, 1911, at the Majestic Theatre in New York City. Presumably sung by Aida Overton Walker. In 1924, Shapiro, Bernstein & Co. released a revised version under the title “Shine,” with Lew Brown credited as a lyricist alongside Mack, which was first released by Van and Scheck in August 1924 on Columbia 149-D.
